In the first day’s play of the KentMarylebone match Kent in their first innings made 270 (Woolley 125). Newman took five wickets for 44. Marylebone in their first innings have lost five wickets with the score at 116. PLAYERS V. GENTLEMEN. The Players in their first innings compiled 204 (Barratt GO)- Hill took five wickets for 39. Dacre, the exNew Zealander, was caught by Robins off Arnot.. lie made 10. The Gentlemen, when stumps were drawn, had three wickets down for 147 (Ilosie 58, Carr not out 71). MARYLEBONE C.C. v. TOURISTS. LONDON, Sept. 5. A Marylebone team opened a match against the team chosen to tour Australia. At tlie conclusion of the first day’s play the Tourists had scored 355 for eight wickets (Sutcliffe 52, Hammond 70, Leyiand SG). Hobbs failed to score. WEST INDIES TEAM. LONDON, Sept. 5.
