LAWN TENNIS.

POWER BOARD’S CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. A representative gathering of members oh tbe Central Electric Power Board Tennis Club met on Wednesday at the offices of the board, when the annual meeting of the club was held. Mr Ellis presided. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows. President, Mr J. Ellis; vice-presidents, Messrs 11. Beeche, C. Brown, and F. Cramp; club captain, Mr F. Hirst; vicecaptain, Mr A. J. Lindsay, secretary and treasurer, Mr G. Hamilton; committee, Messrs Hirst, Hamilton, Lindsay, Bailey, Weber, Purdy, and Miss Olsen Renting Courts. Three delegates from the sub-asso-ciation waited on the meeting to put before tbe club a proposition to lent three of the courts of the Hamilton Lawn Tennis Association in Rostrevor Street. In placing the proposal before the meeting Mr Blackwood explained the advantages that would be derived from its adoption, and stressed the fact that members would be enabled to enjoy the use of all' the facilities provided. After a lengthy discussion the proposal was set aside for investigation by the committee. Successful Season. In reviewing a successful season the secretary' said that the club B team had succeeded in winning the B grade knock-out round, and various other successes stood to the credit of the club. Altogether the dub had progressed considerably, and with the advent of the new' season the prospects were very bright. The balance-sheet show'ed a satisfactory position, and was adopted. Votes of thanks were accorded to the retiring officers. Mr Hirst was unanimously elected as delegate to the sub-association. Considerable discussion took place regarding subscriptions, and the matter was finally submitted to the committee for consideration, with power to raise the fee if necessary'. Another important matter that was dealt with was the fixing of the date for tbe opening day of the club’s season. Various, suggestions were put forth, and on the motion of Mr Purdy the date was fixed for Saturday, September 22. The customary' vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting. ST. PETER’S CLUB. The annual meeting of the St. Peter’s Tennis Club, will be held in the Parish Hull on Wednesday, September 12, at’ 8 p.m.
