THEATRE ROYAL. "If Youth Hut Knew.” a British film production, heads the current programme at the Theatre Royal. It. is a very tine production, with an interesting story, amt interpreted by a cast of outstanding stage and screen stars, Godfrey Tcartc. Lilian Hall-Davis, \\ yndluun Standing, and Mary Odette. On the same programme is “The Collegians." a snappj story of American college life. This is a programme that should not ho missed. STRAND AND FRANKTON THEATRES "Soft Living." a Fox Films comedydrama which comes lo the above theatres to-night for a two days’ run, is another triumph for Madge Bellamy. Miss Bellamy again proves that she Is one of Ihe screen's leading comediennes. Her effective characterisation of the young secretary who thinks site" is after money instead of love is one of her best performances In many months. Billie Dove lias Clive Brook for leading man in her latest stellar vehicle, “The Yellow Lily.’’ The picture is First. National’s adaption of Ihe Lujos Biro stage play, dealing with exotic romance and thrilling aeliun in modern Hungary. II is the second feature oil to-night’s change of programme. REGENT BALLROOM DANCES. The reputation of Hie Regent Railroom as Hamilton’s most popular dance halt was further enhanced last Saturday evening, when over 200 couples found the hours until midnight pass all 100 quickly. The over-popular Regent Dance Band, under the direction of Geo. J. Brown, plays all the latest and most popular dance hits in its inimitable style. The floor is the largest and best in the district. The usual tasty supper is served. The coloured flood lighting effects have been permanently installed, and will be used for beautiful coloured effects. A special Monte Carlo will be held, for which useful prizes will be given. Saturday, September 1, will see the second Big Carnival Night.
