DENGUE FEVER.
EPIDEMIC -IN GREECE. SERVICES AT A STANDSTILL. 150,000 CASES REPORTED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian Press Association). (Received August 29, 1.30 p.m.) ATHENS, August 28. A serious epidemic of dengue fever is reported. There are 150,000 cases. No fatalities have been ■ recorded, but victims are reduced to shadows. The telephones are not working, and the rail services are but a skeleton, while other public services are not functioning. Social life is at a standstill. The shops arc empty, except the chemists', which arc besieged for Aspirin. The ice-makers are unable to cope with the demand.
