The visitors arrived by this morning's express and are being billeted with the local boys. The team ,to represent Hamilton will be chosen from the following:—Gwynnc, Crosby, Johns, Murray, Dempsey, (Marlst); Ghoat, Bradley, Dick, Jones, Signal, (Whitiora), Hall and Evans, (Frankton) ; Davies, (Fairfield) ; Dutton and Braggins (East); Davy and Williams (West). AUCKLAND REPRESENTATIVES. TEAM TO PLAY NORTHLAND. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. The Auckland team to meet Northland here on Saturday is: Fullback, Paewai; three-quarters, Falwasser. L. Hook and Afinns; five-eighths, Jef= fries, Jenkin; half-back, Laner; rover Linton; forwards, Finlayson, Palmer, L. Knight, Wanoa, A. .Knight, Batty and Cathcart. THE BALLISTITE CUP. GAMES AT TE AWAMUTU. The final of the Ballistite Cup, between Rovers and United, was. not a very good exhibition of football, Hovers' spoiling tactics 'being strongly in evidence. Hovers won and deserved their win on the day's play. United kicked off against the sun, and Shepherd had a kick from a penalty, but failed; play swung to the other end, where a free kick sent them back. They still pressed, and United had to force twice on end. The defence held, and with a loose rush United took play to midflekl, where Martin picked up and passed to "'" Wilkes, who made a great run up the , line, but was pushed out just short of the corner. Hovers retaliated, and Shepherd, with the sun in his eyes, fumbled, and Hovers getting a penalty Kedail kicked a nke goal. Hovers still set the pace, Short being collared when dangerous. United replied, and A. Johnson tried a 'pot that went wide; they kept up the pressure, and Bruce Elliott dropped over to equalise. The kick failed, and again United attacked, Shepherd being held up on the line. A free kick ' relieved Hovers. Wilkes then made a dash, but his foot just touched the line. Hovers relieved, only to see United sweep baek over -the line, but a force saved them, and half-time came with the scores: United 3, Rovers 3. The second hailf saw Rovers again on the attack, and a ' free being awarded Les Wenham kicked a,nice goaL Shortly afterwards Adams, United full-back, who had been hurt earlier, fumbled badly, to let Rovers In, and Waters scored. Again the kick •failed, Play was up and down for the rest of the quarter, with • Rovers having slightly the best of it. In the last quarter the only incident was when Rovers were attacking. Les Wenham picked up; to cut through nicely and score a fine try. This was the last score, and the game ended id Rovers' favour: Rovers 12, United 3. Mr D. Freeman was referee. • Rovers have to be congratulated on winning the championship, which carries with it the Spear Cup, and also the Balllistite Cup; tout it is to be hoped that next year they will try and produce the better class of football that pleases the general public, There is no reason Why their backs should not be able to show some combination. . Kendall has been their mainstay in the backs, though Ticklcpenny, Les Wenham, and Jones have shown up well especially in defence. G. Thomson is their best forward, but all work well, their fast following up being a /feature of their game. United were unfortunate in having five of their original team away. Three juniors were playing. Their backs are generally ' good, ;W. A Johnson, Wilkes, Shepherd and C. Johnson being the pick. The forwards were only fair.

TE AWAMUTU V. POWER BOARD. The To Awamutu and Franklin Power Board team played at Te Awamutu and general opinion seemed to favour the chances of the visitors, chiefly for the reason that the Te Awamutu Club was without the services of P-' Quin, J- Davis, E. Holmes, W. Baync and one or two. other regulars. However, good substitutes were found, and a really good contest eventuated. A keen and interesting game ended. —Te Awamutu 26, Franklin Power Board 8. Mr J. Williams was referee. Doyle Cup Semi-final. Considerable Interest centred in the junior contest, Te Awamutu v. Mangahoe, being Ihe semi-final for the Doyle Cup. Each team was at full strength. The game ended. —Mangahoc 16, To Awamutu 11. Mr T. Moisley had charge of the game. ROLLER MILLS SHIELD. PAEROA, Monday.
