OLD MAN INJURED.
GIG STRUCK BY A TRAIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WAIMATE, Monday. While Alfred Quigley, a farmer of Morven, was driving a gig over the railway crossing near Waimate the vehicle was run into by a train. The horse was killed instantly, and Quigley received severe head wounds, being picked up unconscious on the grass a few yards from the crossing. Quigley is aged 80, and is slightly deaf and rather shortsighted. The view of approaching trains is unobstructed for some distance from the crossing. Quigley was sent to the hospital and his condition is Improving.
