Rugby Interest was centred on the North Island v. South Island match at Christchurch, the final scores of 15-14 In favour of the latter indicating the closeness of the game. Locally, The Hamilton representatives in a friendly match accounted for Matamata, after a dismay of bright Rugby on both sides, to the tune of 17 points to 14. Widespread Interest was centred on the Second Test in connection with the touring English League team. At Dunedin the Englishmen won decisively, putting up 13 points to New Zealand’s five. Soccer followers concentrated their attention on the final for the Chatham Cup, which fell to Petone (Wellington) after a close contest with Auckland Y.M.C.A. The final score was two goals to one.
