Mr W. Lee Martin, M.P. for Raglan, arrived from Wellington this morning, He will return south to-morrow night
Sir Joseph Ward, who is returning from a visit to England, will leave Vancouver for Auckland by Hie Aorangi on Wednesday.
Mr Laurence Watkins, of Wellington, is acting as judge of the music section at tlic Invercargill Competitions.
Mr Edwin Dennis, of Levin, ancl formerly of Hamilton, is tho adjudicator in Ihe vocal section of the competitions in Timaru.
Messrs J. D. Griffiths, M. F. Davidson (Auckland), D. A. Forbes ancl C. A and A. T. Burr (Whakatane) arc at the Commercial Hotel.
Messrs C. 11. Burgess (New Plymouth), 11. Duncan (Auckland), and H. E. Chester (London), O. N. Angwin (Auckland), and W. B. Alexander (Sydney) are at Hie Hamilton Hotel.

Professor J. Macmillan Brown, Chancellor of Liu: University of New Zealand, returned lo Auckland by the Maui I’omaro yesterday from one oi his periodic Pacific pilgrimages. On this occasion he lias been to Niue.

Mr A. Capstick, the Pctone cricketer, left Wellington last week on route for Melbourne. Prior to his departure Mr Capstick received a farewell presentation from Hie Pctone Cricket Club. In Victoria lie expects to play for the. Geelong Club.

SI award, who’has retired on account of ill-health and has been suceeded by Bishop P. M. Molyneux, arrived at Auckland by the mission steamer Southem Cross last evening.
The North Taranaki cricket coach, Mr 13. B. Wilson, sailed from England by the lonic last week for New Zealand. lie is expected to reach New Plymouth about the end of September, and thus be in a position to commence coaching immediately the season opens.
