BOWLING.

TE AROHA CLUB. THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Te Aroha Bowling Club took place on Thursday evening'. There was a record attendance of members. The annual report and balance sheet was adopted. A motion to alter a rule dealing with the Clo-thier Shield competition was dealt with. The amendment permitted the club to select two teams instead of one, the names of intending players to he placed on the board for that purpose. An amendment was proposed toy Mr Bygrave that the Match Gommittee select one team and the second and third team be selected from the players on the open-door policy. Mr Childerhouse was of the opinion that many younger players would never get a game if it was left to the Match Committee, while the second and third teams should be selected by anyone. Should too many teams be selected a ballot to be taken. The motion was carried. A further motion was. put by Mr Maingay that the Match Committee select teams from the financial members, as the -blackboard method had not been a success. Election of Officers. The election of officers resulted: — Patron, Mr C. E.' MacmHlan, M.P.; president, Mr H. H. Wood; vice-pre-sidents, Mr 11. Petersen and A. Sneddon; secretary, Mr Geo. Hedge; treasurer, Mr F. L. Kenrick; committee, Messrs J. Heath cote, F. Lockyer, A. D. Jones Noake, Edgar, R. Willis; Match Committee, Messrs F. L. Kenrick and F. Lockyer; delegates, South Auckland Messrs J. A. Clothier and W. Maingay; delegates Goldflelds Assosiation, Messrs Clothier and W. Maingay; auditor, Mr N. J. Ray. It was agreed to hold the annual New Year tourney as heretofore. The president referred to the loss sustained by the Thames Bowling Club in the destruction of its pavilion. He moved that £5 be donated to the Thames Club.—Agreed to. An amendment that*the sum be £3 was defeated. Mr Fitzpatrick urged different conditions for the Wednesday draw as it appeared compulsory to play in the draw to the detriment of the pairs competition. The president said that the object of the draw was to ensure both visitors and those not taking part in competitions getting a game on Wednesday afternoon. The championship cup was presented to Mr Kriskovkh for the second time The Sellars' rose bowl was presented to Mr Tapp by the president.
