MINOR INJURIES ONLY
SUSTAINED BY THE SAMOANS.
POLICE ESCAPE SCATHLESS.

The Minister of External Affairs (Right Hon. J. G. Coates) has been advised by the Administrator of Western Samoa that the arrest yesterday morning by civil and military police of a Mau chief named Leotu, who was wanted on a charge of threatening to kill, was resisted, and resulted in a small conflict between the police and Mau natives.
The‘arrest was effected without injury to the police, but a number of minor casualties occurred among the Samoans. It is believed that none was serious.
Subsequently to the incident Tamasese, the Mau leader, and other Mau chiefs, saw the Administrator (Colonel S. S. Allen), ad accompanied him on an inspection of the injured natives.
