MYSTERIOUS CASKET.
CONTAINING HUMAN ASHES. FOUND IN A CEMETERY. Wcverley (N.S.W.) Council is endeavouring to discover how a casket, containing human ashes, came to be buried about a foot below the surface of a grave allottment at the local cemetery. Council officials noticed that the turf over the allotment had been disturbed, tunl that wreaths bad been placed on it. Apparently the casket had been buried at night with due ceremony. When the matter was reported to Wuverley Council, aldermen • framed a new ordinance, providing that the ordinary procedure lor burials must be adhered to by people desiring io inter cremated remains. The usual interment fee will be charged. If the relatives or people responsible for ihe recent mysterious burial can be traced, they will be compelled In conform to the new regulation, and the Cremation Society will be given particulars The rule*.
