THAMES RACING DAYS.
CLUB WANTS A CHANGE.
THAMES. Saturday
The Thames Jockey Club, which has raced at Thames since 1868, is disappointed with the decision of the Auckland District Racing Commillec in allotting November 17 and 19 as its 1929 racing dales. Those are also Ihe days allotted the Otahuhu Trolling Club. The matter was considered at it special meeting of the general, committee last evening.
The club is keenly desirous of regaining its old dales of November 24 and 20, but the Te Ktiiti Club has been allotted these days for this season. It was slated last evening that an appeal for reconsideration of the dates had resulted in an offer of November 3 and 5, or January 12 and 14, The November date was considered too close to the Whangarei Club's races, and it was resolved to apply for January 12 and 14, 1929, as the club's next racing dates, the Auckland committee to be informed that the club in no way waived its claim to race on November 24 or 26 (to the nearest Saturday) in future years.
