rHE LONDON MARKET.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated May 17: —

Butter.—The market is firm. New Zealand finest salted, 166 s to 170 s; Danish, 178 s to 180 s; Australian finest salted, 156 s to 4605; finest unsalted. 156 s to 160 s.

Cheese. —The market is steady at present prices. New Zealand white and coloured, 95s to 965; Australian white and coloured, 93s to 945; Canadian white and coloured, 110 s to 116 s; Canadian white and coloured, quotations nominal.

TheMotal imports of butter into the United Kingdom last month were 462,000 cwt, as compared with 428,000 ewt for the corresponding period of last year.

SKIN MARKET. Messrs Dalgety and Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated May 17:— Rabbitskins—There is a good demand; hatters, pulling. 10 per cent, higher, unpulled 15 per cent, higher; except racks, light, only slightly dearer; furriers' neglected; where sold, prices are unchanged. Sheepskins—The attendance is good; good general competition; as compared with olosing rates of last series prices are unchanged.

The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports: At our stock sale in the Ngaruawahia yards on Fri-

day we had a fair entry of cattle, comprising principally fats, the quality chiefly rough and plain beef cows. Anything of any quality sold firm at late quotations. Medium weight l'at steers £ll 12s, young and light £0 17s, best fat cows £8 to £8 12s Gd, fair cows and heifers £0 17s to £7 10s, lighter £5 10s to £6, rough and plain £4 to £4 18s, boner £3 6s to £4 ss, vealers £3, low-conditioned store cows £2 5s to £2 18s.
