VESSEL ASHORE.

STRANDED IN ELLICE GROUP. BIG CARGO JETTISONED. BOAT STRALNED BY HEAVY SWELLS (Speoial to Press Assn. by Radio.) (Received April 24, 11.35 a.m.) APIA, April 23. The Steelmaker is still ashore at Nukulailai, in the Ellice Group. The cargo of 5000 tons has been jettisoned. The San Francisco salvage vessel, Peacock, reached Nukulailai on Saturday evening and found the Steelmaker aground in four feet of water at ihe bow in high water but she was afloat aft from the flreroom. Heavy swells since Wednesday have apparently strained the stranded vessel.
