COMPLICATED COIFFURES.

DAY OF "MOUSE" COLOURED HAIR. A GENTLEMAN'S PREFERENCES. La mode has decreed that if more hair is worn the position and disposition of these extra locks is deft to individual taste. The hair is brushed sharply away from either side of a centre parting, so that the hair line represents an unbroken arch around the brow. The "festoon" effect associated with a somewhat similar coiffure of a few months ago must be avoided. This, of course, is the "catch" in this style of hair-dressing. It is extremely difficult to prevent the hair from drooping at either side of a centre parting. The curls are arranged low on the neck, so that they do not break up the clearly defined lines of the head. They are fluffed out well at the back of the ears, so that the curls are visible from a full front view of the head. More "Wearable" Styles. A style which lends itself much more-kindly to general wear is when hair is, cut a uniform length at the back and curled. These curls are then brushed upwards from the nape of the neck, so thai the hair stands well out from the "hump of domesticity." This is regarded as a good style for wearing in the evening, as Ihe collar of a cloak pushes' the hair in the direction it is intended to take. The Day of the Colourless Woman. Quite an interesting new feature of Paris life is the salon of n coiffeurartist, where a lynx-eyed assistant sees to it that, no chemical blonde pets through the grey curtain that leads to the master's atelier.

A woman with straight, mousecoloured or cindre hair, however, is received with the utmost, obsequiousness, whatever her position in life may be. Her hair is cut. shampooed, and arranged for her in some distinctive manner. after which a length of georgette is chosen" from a collection of draperies (ranging through every conceivable shade of mousiness) and arranged about Iter shoulders. The Coiffeur's Hints on Dress. "Please dress in that colour; I will give vou a pattern," says the coiffeur. "Use"a dark crimson lipstick and grege powder. Darken your lashes, but not your eyebrows, and wear beige pearl earrings."
