WORTH NOTICING.

If a splodge of soot should happen to drop down on to your carpet or rug. don't rush and sweep it up, or you will leave an ugly stain. Cover the soot thickly with some coarse salt, then sweep up the salt and soot together,

and no stain will be left.

If a tiny pinch of salt is added when beating the whites of eggs, they will froth much more quickly and also be much stiffer.

Never use soap when scrubbing your kitchen sieve, or you may not be able to get the soap out of it, and thus render it useless. Use a strong soda solution, or some ammonia in the water, then dry well.
