AMOROUS BURGLAR.
WAKES GIRL WITH A KISS. CHASED AND CAUGHT BY FATHER. PALMERSTON N„ Friday. A charge of breaking and entering Ihe house of Mr F. Harris, willi intent to commit a crime, was preferred against Stephen Gough, in Ihe Magistrate's Court before Justices of the Peace. Frederick Harris said that in the early hours of Hie morning he had been awakened by his daughter calling out that there was a man in her room, and on investigating he had found that the man had gone, lie chased Ihe intruder down the street, and had caught him and brought him back. Accused was drunk at the time. Accused had often visited Ihe house.
Freda Harris, daughter of (he previous witness, said she had been awakened by someone kissing her. She recognised accused as lie got out of the window. She did not. think accused bad any criminal intent. He had had too much liquor. Accused pleaded not guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, hail being allowed.
