QUARTERLY RETURNS. t For March birth? show an increase over those of the corresponding month of last year, and deaths show a substantial decrease, while March was not as popular as the same month last year for manages. An increase of births is registered in the quarterly returns over the corresponding quarter of last year. The same number of people died this quarter, •while there was a slight decrease in marriage licenses issued. Following are the returns for March and also for the first quarter ending on March 31: — Returns for March (the figures for the same month last year are given in parenthosis) : —Births, 02 (51.; deaths, JO (17); marriages, 20 (29). Ouartcrln returns. —Births, 156 (150); deaths, 48 (48); marriages, 54 (56).
