ATHLETICS.
HAMILTON CLUB. EASTER SATURDAY MEETING. At the meeting of the Hamilton Amateur Athletic Club Committee there were present: Messrs F. R. Caroian (in the chair), L. Jones (secretary), A. W. Donovan (treasurer), Spence Stewart and Turner. A letter was received from the Auckland Artillery Band requesting that it play at the Club’s Sports Carnival to be held at Steele Park on Easter Saturday. The secretary was instructed to write to tho Band agreeing to the request and suggesting that the Band give an exhibition quick step march, for which it is famous throughout New Zealand. The secretary reported that In answer to communications to the most prominent athletes, A. J. Elliott, J- W. Savidan, F. Nesdale, had signified their intention of competing on Easter Saturday. ... The following were elected officials. Referee, F. A. de la Mare; judges, L. W W. Brown, J. Cameron, D. McKenzie, McGough, F. Earl, S. Lye; time-keepers, S. Prisk. F. Jones, W. Frye, W. Blythe, L. Turner; starter, P. m. Velvin; starter steward, G. N. Reid; result hoard, F. Tooman; inspectors, R. Thomas, C. Gould, J. Sutton, Cook, B. Jones; official surveyor, T. R. Blackman; lap steward, F. Buckingham; field doctor, Dr. J. B. McMicken. MATAMATA CLUB.
Arrangements are well forward for the annual sports meeting to be held on the Domain on Easter Saturday. At a meeting of the executive Mr W. Clover presided, and various matters relating to tenders, special coni-, mittees, officials, etc., were dealt with. Record entries are anticipated, and the coming gathering gives every promise of being a successful fixture-
