U.S.A. OIL SCANDALS.

HIGH OFFICIALS INDICTED.

SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS. CONTROL OF NAVAL RESERVES. (Received March 30, 1.45 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 29. Senator Robinson, before the Senate, stated: "The conspiracy to get control of the naval oil reserves was formed in the city of Washington during Mr Wilson's administration. It was participated in by high officials of that, administration, and aided and abetted by still other democrats of high standing. The record shows that wholesale influencing of Federal officials, including Cabinet members and their important assistants, by private oil interests was in full bloom under the Wilson Administration, and the exhaustion of the nation's supply of oil was already well under way, due to Democratic acts, Legislation and Administration."

He centred his attack upon the former Secretary of the Navy, Mr Daniels, and the ex-Secretary of the Interior, Mr Lane, whom he named as the originator of the proposal to lease the naval reserves private exploitation. He also added: "Mr McAdoo crammed a cool quarter of a million dollars of Doheny's money into his pocket, and has never yet made restitution." He asked if it were possible that Mr McAdoo was using the money to finance the campaign of Senator Walsh, of Montana.
