Mr A. E. Davy, Dominion organiser for the United Party, has gone to the South Island.
Hon. A. D. McLeod, Minister of Lands, was in Hamilton last evening. lie left, for WeUingbcHi by the limited express.
Mr Frederick Wilson Davis, late of the Paramount Pictures, Auckland, has succeeded Mr F. Roberts as manager of the Cambridge Town Hall.
The, guests at the. Commercial Hotel include Mrs. H. T. Davidson, Miss O'Malley (Sydney), and Mr. and Mrs. J. Kevill (New Plymouth).
Brigadier-General A. W. Andrews, C.M.G., who was in Hamilton yesterday in connection with Ihc Scout movement, left to-day for Pacroa, Thames and other East Coast districts.
Mr F. .1. Jones, who will retire from his position as chairman of the Railway Board on March 31, will leave for America and England by ihc Aorangi on April JO.
Major-General n. Young, General Officer Commanding Ihe New Zealand Forces, visited the camp of Hie fith Hauraki Regimen! at Ilopu Hopu yesterday. He joined the express for Wellington last evening.
Among the visitors at the Hamilton Hotel are: .Messrs. B. Sladden, 11. Welsh (Auckland), Mrs. L. V. Empson Miss L. Reynolds (Sydney), Mr. X ' Pollock (Melbourne), Mr. C. Column (Whakatane), and Mr G. Fraser (New Plymouth).
Mr Hector Bolilho formerly of Auckland, gave an entertaining address at King's" Lynn, where at Hie King Edward VII. Grammar School Prince Chavchavadzi gave a piano recital, says a London correspondent. Mr Bolitho spoke, of his life in New Zealand, of "salted Anglicans." and the extraordinary wealth of English literary associations with New Zealand, and told his audience that a higher percentage df the people of New Zealand went to the University than in England or Germany. "When you read of New Zealand' in your newspapers," concluded Mr Bolitho, "I want you to pause and remember these things and to think of New Zealand as she really is, and not as a barbaric country where people still eat each other."
