HATS OF THE MOMENT.

The newest hats in London and Paris have either tiny brims, slightly wider at the sides, turning sharply downwards, or are draped round the head with no brim at all. The down-on-one-side model is a feature of this season, and it's rather chic to show 0 bit of your forehead on one side. (Don't overdo this, though, and make up for it by being very mysterious about the other eyebrow!) Hats are not as simple as they were last year, though they still look deceptively so. They are seldom made of one material only. Velvet is allied with felt, felt with thick petersham ribbon, and so on. The "tea-veil" is a new idea which has caught on—a tulle veil over the eyes, ending on the bridge of the nose, with one huge chenille spot placed so that it comes high on one cheek like a beauty spot. The famous London milliner, Agnes, who always provides something new and exciting, has again gone one better than anybody else. Her latest success is a black chenille cap. knitted by hand, which fits your head as closely as your own hair. It is caught up above one eyebrow with a paste brooch, its sole ornament, and the only thing which breaks its perfectly flat line.
