The second cricket match for the Hawke Cup since Manawatu obtained possession of the trophy was commenced this morning, Southern Hawke's Ray being the challengers. The latter won the toss and elected to bat. Their opening was disastrous. Wilder going in the first over, und Smith a few minutes later. Two wickets for two runs.
