NEW FOXTON SCHOOL.

GIFT OF MAORI WOMEN.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) FOXTON, Thursday.

The Minister of Education, Hon. R. A. Wright, officially opened a new building to accommodate the secondary pupils of the Foxton District High School yesterday. The building. erected on land adjoining the school, was the gift of the daughters of the late Maori chief Ihakara Tukumaru. Speeches were made by Mayor, chairman and members of the Education Board Mr Linklater, M.P., and representatives of the -district schools, and Hon. McMillan on behalf of Maoris.

The building is of brick and is ventilated and lighted on modern lines.
