FIRST IN AMERICA. A bilingual intercollegiate debate with the University of Porto Rico features the 1928 'varsity debating schedule of New York University, as announced by Professor Charles Dwycr, of the Public Speaking Department. Twenty-nine debates with most of the principal colleges and universities in the country were scheduled for the season beginning February 9 and ending May 3. The bilingual debate will be the first nf its kind to take place in the United States. The subject in all cases this season will be—" Resolved: That the United States Refuse to Protect with Armed Forces American Investments Abroad." |
