ENTERTAINMENTS.
THEATRE ROYAL. "Seventh Heaven" which local picture lovers have been acclaiming as one of the finest screen dramas of vears is ne.aring the end of its run at the Rnval, where it will have a final showing with a special matinee on Fridav afternoon and evening. This is the picture with which Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrel, the two leads, created a sensation in Los Angeles and New York where the critics hailed it. as the greatest picture shown there this season. . The prologue, in which Mr Eskrigg* appears as Chico and Miss Ida Griee as Diane, is a delightful forerunner to the production, while the splendid orchestral accompaniment leaves littlft to be desired.
STRAND AND FRANKTON THEATRE** "Ice Cream" Cohen and Hot Dog**" : Kellv arrived in town yesterday for a two'day's visit. Kelly complained that the weather was too warm for good business and Cohen said that Kelly had made it hot for him. The argument will be continued this evening at the above theatres, where the two plav a most important part in the humorous business of "Shamrock and the Rose " Many cowboy champions appear'with Hoot Gibson in the supporting feature, "Painted Pomes" These great riders are seen in the rodeo scenes which were made at the famous annual "big show" at Saugus, California.
FULLER'S REVUE COMPANY. To rim continuously for 10 week* and maintain an unbroken period of popularity is the record of the Gayle Wver Bandbox revue and musical rnmedv. as established' recently at His Theatre, Wellington. This combination, which is said to be one, of the best on the large, circuit controlled by the Fullers, will appear at the Theatre Royal on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings next.. Two very divertinc nieces in "Rlack Eagle" and "Married Life" will be staged, and the mounting and costuming will be on tha same elaborate lines as characterises the hi 11 " city presentations. Smart ballets and lively ensembles, leavened by the latest catchy musical numbers, will he prominent features of each product.mn. which will he under the experienced guidance and control of Mr Gayle Wyer. Revues, of course, are noted for their nonsense. Some are more nonsensical than others. Next, week's productions are said to belong to the latter category. Ample scope is allowed the comedians to provoke mirlh and they are said to accomplish their, task with great success.- There will be a complete change of programme on Wednesday night. The plans open tomorrow morning. •
