POLO BALL.
SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. Last Thursday night was the occasion of the Polo Ball held in the Matangi Hall. This is always considered one of the outstanding events of the year and this one, quite equalled all previous years and was a huge success. The hall was effectively decorated for the occasion, polo sticks and masses of greenery adorning the walls. Crawford’s orchestra delighted everyone with their popular music and added greatly to the success of the evening. A delightful supper was arranged in the supper room the large table looking most attractive with the silver cups, arranged in the centre and decorated artistically in shades of pink. This work was left in the hands of the ladies’ committee whose excellent work and untiring efforts helped to make the ball the success it was.
Mrs Vcre Chitty who acted as hostess was wearing a handsome frock of black georgette beaded in crystal. Others present were, Mesdames W. Ranstcad, G. Peake, S. Pilkington, R. Ranstead, W. I.
