A BANDMASTER ARRESTED. AN UNREHEARSED INCIDENT, j There was an unrehearsed incident at the Xmas dinner of the Hamilton Rotary Club this week, when the cadet band serenaded the gathering. The bandmaster (Mr T. Donovan) was promptly arrested by Constable Harty and hailed before the-Rotation tribunal, summary justice being dispersed. It is understood the charge against the bandmaster was not a serious one, nor was it for disturbing the peace. The prisoner appealed to his companions to secure his release and they bailed him out by playing two numbers to the assembled Rotarians. • A remarkable scene followed when the Rotatian bench, forgetting their judicial dignity, eulogised the efforts of the band and cheered the players.'
