LICENSES RENEWAL.
BOR'OUGH APPLICATIONS NINE HAWKERS APPROVED. TAXIS AND HORSE VEHICLES. The yearly batch of applications for renewals of licenses was before the Hamilton Borough Council at its meeting last night, and included in the list were nine hawkers, whose licenses were approved. Nearly all were for fruit and vegetables. Applications for renewal of taxi or public motor van licenses by Frank Bannister, John Bogan, Edward J. Carlyon, J. J. Craig, Ltd., Robert Dixon, William Dunn, Thomas Ewan (3), Gilbert Gilmour, John W. Hainsworth, William G. Hodder and Son, Harry Holtby, Ireland and Burn, Peter Pelavich, James Lawless, James Madigan, George Miles, lan M. Nairn, William Percival, Thomas Shannon. William Albert Walker and Edward Woodward (2) were approved. Renewals of horse vehicle licenses were issued to Alfred James Clarkin, George S. Dougherty (2), Thomas Francis Dowd, Joseph Dufty (2), Laurence Harwood (3), George Thomas Little (2), Bertie F. Mullins (2), Frederick J. Tasker, John Taylor (2) and Arthur E. Tibbs.
Approval was given for the renewal of hawkers' licenses by Henry W. Amesburv (general goods), William George Griffiths (fruit), Charles J. Green (fruit and vegetables), Ralph Griffiths (eggs and butter), Hugh McInally (fruit and vegetables), William
H. Tombs (fruit and vegetables), W. Lunn (fruit and vegetables), G. Y. Toy (fruit and vegetables), Young Hong (fruit and vegetables). An application by the Goldfinch Advertising Company for, a license for a hoarding on the corner of London and Victoria Streets, was received and granted. F. W. Hadfield's application for a motor omnibus driver's license wasacceded to.
