A PALTRY THIEF.
'PLANTS FROM RIVER BANK. BEAUTIFYING PLOT ROBBED. A particularly mean theft occurred at Ferry Bank a few nights-ago, when some person removed a large number of the plants from one of the well laid-out beds. The Beautifying Society, which is working against odds, to try and make the town more habitable and beautiful to live in, takes great pride in its parks, and plots and for its work to be destroyed in this way is to say the least unsettling. The loss of the plants is, perhaps, not felt so much as the knowledge that there is somebody abroad,- despicable enough to commit such a paltry act. The different plots have for the most part, been replanted and the result, which will not be seen for a month or. two, should be very fine indeed. The river bank and railway border .should look particularly well. The Beautifying, Society will welcome any information leading', to the conviction of persons stealing plants or flowery
