WOMEN’S DIVISION N.Z.F.U.
PROGRESS OF HAMILTON BRANCH. A very successful street stall was held in Victoria Street, on Thursday of last week by the Hamilton branch of the Women’s Division of I lie Farmers’ Union. The executive wishes In thank all who helped to make the sale a success.
The funds are to he used hv headquarters for the purpose of helping to brighten the lives of those in the backblocks. Already the Dominion headquarters have a nurse and five housekeepers engaged, and these are paid out of a community chest which is maintained by voluntary subscriptions and by sums raised. The, work of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union is one that will be appreciated by all sections of the com infinity.
Much has been done by ihe Hamilton branch in the short time it lias been in existence.
It is hoped shortly to have cookery demonstrations by the Central Power Board, and it has been definitely decided to reopen the Hood Street restrooms for the use of members of the division and farmers’ wives, Ihe subprovincial executive of Ihe Farmers’ Union having undertaken to put the rooms in order.
The membership, which lias grown steadily is now over 60. An address will he given in the Farmers’ Union board-room in Hood Street next Tuesday, to which all interested are invited.
