IS IT INCENDIARISM?
FIRES AT CAMBRIDGE.
A YOUTH ARRESTED
SEVERAL SUCCESSIVE OUTBREAKS
Another mysterious fire occurred at Cambridge on Saturday evening, when a large outbuilding, consisting of barn, stables, and implement shed, the properly of Mr Robert Swayne, situated ahout two miles from Cambridge, on the Fencourt Road, was burned. There was just time to save a valuable agricultural drill, but a quantity of seed and manures and other valuable articles were destroyed. Although the building is insured for £IOO, the owner is a heavy loser. Only about a month ago an attempt was made to burn Mr Swayne's residence, a fire having actually been started underneath the building, but fortunately it was discovered by Miss Swayne before any damage was done. Other fires have lately occurred, under equally suspicious circumstances, advises our Cambridge correspondent. A sequel to the occurrences is the arrest of a 19-year-old youth, Robert Clifford Findon, against whom, ■it is understood, a charge of arson will be preferred.
Accused Before Court. Accused appeared before Mr Allen Bell, J.P., in the Cambridge Magistrate's Court tliis morning to answer a charge of arson on six different counts. On the application of Detective Culloty he was remanded till November 7. No bail was sought.
