Mr P. J. O'Regan, of Wellington, is amongst the guests at the Commercial Hotel. Mr 11. M. Rogerson and Mr J. J. Terry, of Auckland, are visitors to Hamilton. Among the guests at the Empire Hotel, Frankton, are Major Whitney, Messrs McConbie, T. Whitney, C. Smith, S. Buckley (Auckland), J. McGhie, and Dobson, (Wellington). Mr and Mrs W. R. McKeen (Auckland), Mr and Mrs M. Levy (Auckland), Miss M. R. Crompton (Adelaide), and Miss M. Dowson (England) are at the Grand Central Hotel. Hon. lan Douglas Campbell, heir presumptive to the Argyll Dukedom, is affianced to Hon. Janet Aitken, the only daughter of Lord Beaverbrook.— London cable. Mr R. Kiddey left Hamilton yesterday to take up his residence in Auckland. Prior to his departure he was entertained at several farewell functions, and presentations were made to him. Messrs W. Goodfellow and C. M. Rich White, of Auckland, and W. D. Hunt and J. T. Martin, of Wellington, have gone into camp at Taupo for about 10 days on a fishing hoiday. The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergussou, and Lady Alice Fergussou returned to Wellington last evening after a brief visit to Auckland. They were accompanied by Lady Augusta lnskip, sister of Her Excellency, and Captain Orr-Ewing, A.D.C. Mr W. F. Fortune, M.A., son of a Paraparaumu resident, who In 1926 went to England for two years' research work at Cambridge, has gone to New Guinea, where he will prosecute research work in anthropology on behalf of the Cambridge and Sydney Universities
