PLAY AT HAMILTON. RAIN STOPS MATCHES. Hamilton Club players met the Ngarua.wah.ia representatives at lawn tennis on Saturday, but rain Inter in the afternoon caused the abandonment of play. Details of the matches are as follows, Hamilton players mentioned first:— Men's Doubles.—Stevenson and Brougli v. Hall and Christie, 9 —7; Fabling and MeCracken v. Sampson and Sampson, 9—5; Stubbs and Howes v. Brand and Rawson, 9—2. Ladies' Doubles.—-Mrs Bainbridge and Miss Bruce v. Mrs isdale and Miss Morris 7—5; Mrs MeCracken and Miss Cleveley v. -Misses Pharo and Roper, 7 —o; Misses .Jones and Newell v. Mrs Brand and Miss Dawson, 7 —o. HAMILTON v. NGAHUAWAHIA. Al the Hamilton Tennis Courts on Saturday, before an excellent attendance of local and visiting Ngaruawahia players, a friendly match between Hamilton and Ngaruawahia resulted in
a win for the former. Play in tH» latter part of the afternoon had' to be abandoned on account of the rain.
