RUSSIAN BROADCASTING.
HEARD AT PALfWERSTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Saturday. With regard to the Christchurch denial that the Russian broadcasting station, which is regularly heard in New Zealand, is located at Khabarovsk, Mr W. A. Waters states that the Russian station was on the air last night with better volume than has < been the case since last Sunday night. Punctually at 9.30 the announcer, speaking in English, called: "Alio, alio, radio. R.F.N., Khabarovsk." He repeated this twice slowly. Then he said in English: "Broadcasting on 60 metres," also giving his;identity very slowly.
After a musical programme another announcer, with a clearer voice, slowly and deliberately called: "Radio R.F.N'., Khabarovsk, U.S.S.R." The new announcer kept repeating th. call-sign, etc., evidently with a view to making sure, that everyone could understand it. It was impossible in Palmcrston N. not to understand every word said.
