It is estimated that the British Treasury is receiving about £IO,OOO a week as the result of the boom in greyhound racing. This estimate is based on an average weekly attendance of 410,000 at eight race meetings. The Entertainments Tax on the price of admission is put at £7,300, and the Bets Tax is estimated to yield at least £2,000 a week.
