FANCY DRESS BALL.

C " -SSFUL GATHERING. A children's plain and fancy dress ball held by the Ngaruawahia Tennis Club in the Ngaruawahia Town Hall last Friday night was an unquallifled success, socially and financially. Approximately 80 children in fancy dress took part in the grand march, after which dancing was indulged in by the children until 9.30 p.m., when they were provided with a dainty supper. The adults then occupied the floor until J a.m. Excellent music was supplied hv Sampson's orchestra. Extras were played by Mrs Gerring, Dr. Isdale and Mr McGrucr.

The prize-winners were:—Most original: Girls, Lola McKella, “Anchor Butter”; boys, Douglas Sampson, “Black and White Whisky.” Most effective: Girls, Margaret Gerring, “Dresden Shepherdess”; hoys, Moorey Gerring. “Pirate.”

A special prize donalel by Hie .fudges was awarded to Stanley and Marie Brewer, who represented ‘.‘Bride and Bridegroom.”
