SUNDAY CONCERTS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I see that Sunday concerts do not appeal to two people. I feel they ought to be treated with contempt. How any one could write such stuff and be so irreligious is beyond me. I think that the Sunday night concerts ought to be given oftener and different choirs asked to take part. Certainly last Sunday night’s concert was a treat worth going a long way to hear and, judging by the applause, the public were well satisfied. There is no need to talk about the devil being at large in our beautiful little town; he has been playing havoc here for some time. When we think that Hamilton is fourth on the list for crime it makes one very sad. They ought to try and reform our Little town. There is no need to feel sad at a Sunday night concert 1 , and I see no harm in people singing good comic songs, but does this appeal to others? Certainly not. We arc responsible for our own lives and none of us know when we will be. called home to answer for our life in this world. Having attended a Sunday night’s concert we ought to feel a great spiritual uplift.—l am, etc., COMMON SENSE.
