DELIVERY OF PAPER.

4) . WAS IT SUNDAY TRADING? (Bv Telegraph.—Press AssociatiAn.) PALMERSTON N., Monday. An interesting point in law was raised at the Magistrate s Court today during the hearing of a charge against William Patrick Casey, of selling newspapers on a Sunday. _ The evidence showed that Casey delivered a paper at the office of an hotel, the purchaser having paid for it on Saturday. t It was submitted by counsel that a hotel office on a Sunday was not a public place; that it was no offence to deliver on Sunday what was paid for on Saturday; and that delivery of. a paper was part- of its publication, which was exempted under the Act. Decision was reserved.
