A.J.C. SPRING MEETING. TRAINING AT ELLERSLIE. 1 ALLOWAY BREAKS A FETLOCK. (Special to Times.) (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, .Tuesday. The weather was fine, though dull, for training work at Ellerslie this morning. The outside of the course proper was available, and provided good going. When galloping with Mask, Alloway broke his near fetlock, and had to be destroyed. Queen Emerald ran seven furlongs in 1.37 3-5. Baby Bun and Star Comet were in front of Thursby at the end of .seven furlongs run in 1.38 1-5. Sleepy Sol, Luxurious, and Restaurant got to the end of six furlongs in 1.22 1-5, ..finishing on . terms. Catkin worked steadily on the tan. Joy King ran four furlongs in 525, and Catonia three furlongs in 40s. Ballymoy and Gold Acre were together at the end of four furlongs in 52 3-5. Thaw' and Covent Garden were together at the end of three furlongs, which were run in 38 4-ss.

A Mishap Occurs. 'Alloway and Mask jumped off at the seven furlongs post. When half-way down the straight Allow-ay was slightly in front, but something appeared to go wrong with him. lie was pulled up just after passing the post, when it was found he had broken a fetlock, and he had to be destroyed. Mask’s time was 1.34 2-5. Sir x\rchie did the last three furlongs of his work in 395. Gascony did three furlongs in 38 4-ss, and Gala Day and Damarus ran six furlongs in 1.21 4-5. Lysander Sent Over Four. Lysander got to the end of four furlongs in 53 2-ss, and Town Guard covered five furlongs in 1.10 3-5. Whaka King and Automne were in front of Fiery Lad at the close of a six furlongs gallop, which occupied 1.23 3-5.

Aussie ran four furlongs in 52 l-ss. Knightlike and Marian’s Birthday were in front of Second Wind at the end of three furlongs, run in 3.9 2-5. Laughing Prince easily beat Ruanui over six furlongs in 1.21 1-5. Cohesion was well in front of Serang over five furlongs, r.un in 1.8 4-5. Great Charter went three furlongs in 395. Star Stranger went a round, being picked up by Star God at the six furlongs post. Star Stranger completed the round in 2.4. He was going well Ui roughout. After Breakfast. Right and Left was in front of Hone Ileke over half a mile in 54 4-ss. Branson sprinted home from the three furlongs peg in 53 3-ss. Karamu was timed to run five furlongs in 1.11 1-5, and went well. Scot Free and Amos .finished together in front of Ponticus over five furlongs in 1.10 4-5. Lord Guy sprinted three furlongs in • 435, going nicely. Pompey was too good for Charilaine in a half-mile sprint, which occupied 555. Itahepoto and Wyoming were toge■f (her, with Killute well back, at the ' end of seven furlongs in 1.37 2-5. Te Monanui and Desert Glow jumped off at the mile and a-quartcr post, and finished the full distance in 2.21, the round occupying 2.7, and the last six furlongs 1.24. They were practically together, but Pesert Glow appeared to be going the better at the end. Valour was a shade better than Metonic in a three-furlongs, sprint, run in 41s. Value and Prodice hopped off at the three-furlongs peg. After running the first furlong in 12 4-5, they completed the journey in 52 2-5. Master Clements defeated Rapoa over half a mile in 5Gs. Armenia and King Val ran a similar distance in 555. Ilipo and Oration jumped off at the six-furlongs peg, running the first furlong in 12 3-ss, two in 26 l-ss, and three in 395, and the full distance in 1.21 4-5. Archeno and Finelli were companions over six furlongs, which they ran in 1.21 1-5, the latter being in front. She got a break On Archeno at the start, and ran the first furlong in 12 3-5, the second in 2Gs, and three in 39 l-ss. , Arch Queen and Golden Krist finished together in front of Ash Tray over six furlongs in 1.24 3-5. Avon Court was just in front of Envoy, with Justify further back, at the end of half a mile in 54 3-ss. Phaoia commenced slowly from the seven-furlongs post, and was going well at the finish, her time being 1.38 2-5.
