I THAMES, Alonday. j The Siberian broadcasting station 1 R.FN was heard by Dr. J. B. Liggins, a successful wireless amateur, of Thames, between 8 and 10 o’clock last night. The wave-length was 50 •metres. A musical and vocal programme in the Russian language was f heard at loud-speaker strength on two valves. A speech was also broadcast in broken English. . BETTER PROGRAMMES. The announced policy of the New Zealand Radio Broadcasting Company*, to raise the standard of programmes is j being given practical effect by its musi- ! cal director, Mr. W. J. Bellingham. He ! is in active negotiation with leading , musicians in Auckland and hopes later j to be able to make an announcement of considerable interest to listeners-in.
