HIGHLY ESTEEMED.

♦ HAMILTON EAST PRESENTATION. Residents in Hamilton East assembled last Wednesday evening to pay tribute to Mrs Young, who by her happy personality has endeared herself to the young people in that suburb. A gay evening was spent and an enjoyable function marked the high esteem in which Mrs Young is held. Songs were contributed by Mrs Dawson, Messrs R. Blackie and E. H. Quill, a monologue by Mr Shanksliaft., violin duet by Miss C. Bradley and Master'John Jordan, and a violin solo by Ottell. During the evening Mr W. Jordan, on behalf of those present, conveyed their felicitations to Mrs Young on the occasion of her birthday and handed her a handsome present. ' Mr 11. Earle responded for the recipient. Among those present were: Mesdames Young, Earle, Quill, Jordan, Tish, C. Knapp, Aulin, K. Knapp, J. Anderson, Cotton, Parkhouse, Olteli, Turnbull, Monk, Mitchell, Dawson, Priest, Edmonds, Best, McSwceney, Wilson, McDonald and Fremlin; Misses M. Rutherford, M. Thompson, N. Fox, V. Thompson, E. Reid, J. Mills, V. Priest, C. Tisch, D. Mawson, F. Earle, K. Sweeney, V. Cossack, C. Bradley, K. Jordan, McSwceney, C. Dcvilt, J. Jordan, Williamson, Mclntosh, T. Sweeney, N. Webster, C. Grolly, Slurgess, L. Boulton, and A. Sweeney.
