WAIKATO CENTRAL BODY. REVISION OF SCHEDULE. A meeting of the general committee of the Waikato Central Agricultural Association was held at Cambridge on Friday. Those present were Messrs. J. S. Fisher (president) in the chair, W. C. Wallace, C.' H. Cooper, R. D. Fisher, T. A. Hicks, W. A. Fisher, G. Harris, G. 11. Hargreaves, R. Wattam, A. E. Peppercorn, wV T. Perkins, G. Moule, A. E. Galloway, E. R. Lee, G. WheWell, and the secretary (E. James). Letters were received from several of the headmasters of the district schools, stating their approval of the suggestion that the Domain Board Gup be donated to the school having the best garden of vegetables and flowers, to be judged by the agricultural instructors. It was resolved that the cup be given as suggested, conditions lo be that the entries must be the work of the school children only, and supervised by the teachers. Staig’s Enterprises, Ltd., wrote offering £7 10s for the sole rights for merry-go-round and chairoplane at the next show 7 . The offer was accepted.

The Schedule. The sub-committee appointed to revise the schedule reported on the various sections. In the Friesian section the Association’s Cup was won outright last year by Messrs. Whewell Bros., of Tamahere. Mr. 0. Whewell, on behalf of the. firm, offered to donate a trophy valued at £lO 10s as a points prize in this section for the. 1928 show. Messrs. Whewell were heartily thanked for their generous donation. In the milking Shorthorn section Mr. W. A. Fisher, on behalf of the Fisher .Estate, offered a donation of £3 3s to the prize money.—The offer was received with thanks.

Mr. R. Wattam,, who reported on the Jersey section, suggested the cutting out of the Gift Calf Class, also the class for yearling heifer, by the imported bull. Masterful. He would also suggest that all the Jerseys bo judged on the first day of the show. It might be' necessary to appoint a local judge for the grade cattle. —Mr. Wattam was thanked for the report which was adopted. Mr. W. C. Wallace reported that he did not Hi ink it necessary to make any all oration in the Ayrshire section. He would be in a position to recommend a judge after the Waikato Association had made its selection.

Mr. George Harris suggested the addition of a class for girdle scones in the cooking section, and it possible he wtoulri like to increase the horticulture section, but he I hought it, better (n leave the latter till a little later. Mr. Harris thought it, advisable to rail, out the classes for woollen and silk jumpers in the needlework section, as I hey were poorly patronised last year. He advocated the addition of a class for the largest pumpkin, and one for soft turnips. He thought the rule which, provided that only a percentage of the prize money he paid out when the entries are small, should not apply to Ihc home industry classes, where the prize is 5s or under. Mr. Harris was thanked for his report, which was adopted.

Juvenile Section. Mr, C. H. Hargreaves, who reported on the juvenile section, stated that he intended to cut out. some if the existing classes and add others, but the amount of prize money would be the same. —It was resolved to ask Mr Hargreaves to draw up a complete programme, the prizes not to exceed the money allotted for the same. The president said he could sec no reason to alter the existing classes in the hacks and hunters section, with the exception of the addition of a class suggested by Mr. Hargreaves as follows ; —Best team of three horses, open to any rider to be put over jumps 3ft. 6in.. Once round the ring. The report was adopted. The next meeting of the committee was tlxed for Friday, October 2 1. PILES CURED.
