WIN FOR KOPU HOPU. ’.There was a large attendance last evening, when, under the auspices of the Hamilton Fire Brigade, a tug-of-war contest in which seven teams ■ competed resulted in a victory for the £ Hopu Hopu team, which defeated the Hamilton Fire Brigade by 2 inches in the final pull. The teams were evenly matched, .and all pulls .'were ,of intense interest 7to the large'attendance. “ The evening took the form of a . dance, interspersed, with the tug-of-•;war contests.
