ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
TRAIN AND LORRY COLLIDE. AUCKLAND, Friday. . A collision between a goods train proceeding to Helensville and a motor lorry, owned by Mr 11. Lovett, of Ponsonby, occurred at the Blake'Street level crossing, Avondale, yesterday afternoon. The lorry was pushed clear of the line without injury to the driver, Mr 11. Marshall. AUCKLAND, Friday. Severe burns io the arms and face were received by Mr .T. Williams, aged 22, an employee of the Auckland Gas Company, through an explosion of gas which' occurred while be was repairing a broken main in Fort Street Lane early yesterday afternoon. Severe scalds to the chest, legs and arms were sustained by an infant, Erick Tierney, aged 18 rrionLlis, through coming in contact with boiling water at the home of ids parents, Avondale, yesterday afternoon. While working cargo on the steamer Mataroa at Queen’s Wharf last evening a waterside worker, named Walters, sustained an injury to his right foot through a crowbar falling on it.
