THE AUCKLAND MEETING. TRAINING AT ELLERSUIE. INTERESTING WORK. (Special to Times.') AUCKLAND, Thursday. The weather was fine for training at Ellerslie this morning. No. 1 grass track was open for fast work. The going was better than it had been for some time. Before Breakfast. Queen Emerald ran seven furlongs in 1.39 2-5. King Emerald went half a mile in 535. Catkin got to the end of four furlongs in 54 2-5. Marion's Birthday was just slightly ahead of Knightlike at the finish of ■half a mile in 535. • Lysander covered half a mile in 52 4-5, Piet and Corinax taking 54 2-5. Joy King alone covered four furlongs in 535. He moved off very slowly. Scrang and Challenge were not hurried to cover Ave furlongs in 1.16 1-5. Nassock and Royal March ran four furlongs in 58s. Damaris was jU3t a shade in front of Star God and Star Stranger at the 'finish of six furlongs in 1.24. Gascony alone ran half a mile in 52 2-5, moving nicely. Tidal and Whakarite ran the last half-mile of their work in 1.0 2-5.

Respirator was slightly in front of Branson at the finish of four furlongs in 57 2-5.

Bombardier and Pompeius went half a mile in 545.

Aussie ran four furlongs nicely In 51 3-5.

Alloway, going easily, covered the last six furlongs of his work in 1.29 2-5. Te Tahi beat Companion over half a mile in 545. After Breakfast.

Glenlight jumped off at the seven furlongs post, and finished the last six furlongs in 1.27 4-5. Pompey and Charitaine were companions over three furlongs, which they ran in 41s, with the former going nicely. Prodice trotted round to the threefurlongs post, and sprinted home in 40 2-5.

Ruanui was given strong work, running the last four furlongs in 555. Te Monanui and Desert Glow jumped off at.the old mile post. After running the first two furlongs in 28s, three in 30s, and four in 555, they came homo in 1.50 3-5. There was nothing between them at the finish. Both did their work well. Phaola and Value were sprinted six furlongs, which they travelled in 1.23, the former appearing to go the better of the pair. Royal Mint and Mint Leaf jumped off at the seven furlongs post. Although not hurried in the early stages they completed the journey in 1.41 1-5. Ash Tray beat Rapoa over half a mile in 54 3-5.

Finelli trotted round to the five furlongs post, and ran home in 1.8 3-5, and appeared to be going strongly at the finish.

Oration and Master Doon sprinted half a mile in 525. The former jumped off slightly in front. They were on terms at the finish.

Avon Court appciv-l' to be going easier than Nankin i •at the finish of a three-furlongs sprint, which occupied 40s.

The Jumpers.

Wee Marble (Driscoll) jumped a couple of pony hurdles. At the initial attempt he knocked the first one over, then jumped two well. Mangani (Mcßae) and Sea Comet (Hastings) gave a bold display in going a round of the schooling hurdles. Blue Sky (Rae) and Jack Lamont (Sharkey) started off over a round of schooling hurdles. After screwing at the first 'obstacle Jack Lamont blundered and lost his rider at the second. He was afterwards remounted, and with Blue Sky, who waited for him, jumped the last two hurdles safely.
