TROTTING HANDICAPPER.
THE OTAHUHU CLUB. MR C. E. GOOSMAN APPOINTED. Mr C. E. Goosman, of Hamilton, has been appointed handicapper to the Otahuhu Trotting Club. Last season Mr Goosman was handicapper to the Waikato, Cambridge, and Te Aroha clubs.
On his re-appointment as handicapper, which was decided on unanimously at the latest meeting of the executive of the Waikato-Club, a general tribute was paid to Mr Goosman's good work in this important capacity. His appointment to a metropolitan club indicates further the estimate that is held of Mr Goosman's ability as a handicapper, of which he gave demonstration in the fields he adjusted the marks for at the various meetings last season. Mr Goosman had many years' connection with the trotting sport as an owner, and as a committeeman of Otahuhu and 'he Waikato Clubs, prior to entering on handicapping in an official capacity last season.
Mr R. T. Reid, of Hamilton, who was'handicapper to the Otahuhu Club last season, and who has been succeeded by Mr Goosman, did not, owing to business reasons, seek re-election to the position.
