CANTERBURY MEETING. WORK AT RICCARTON. LIGHT THIS MORNING. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) CHRISTCHUBCII, Wednesday. It was line.but foggy this' morning at Riccarton, but there was not any fast work. Grown Coin, Scamp, and Pamplona will hot race at the meeting. All other National - candidates were out doing easy pacing. .Frenchman may be withdrawn from the Grand National Steeplechase, but will race later on. ■. ■ Hyperion and Sir Wai set out to school over the schooling fences, but both ran off. . . ■ Whenuanui arrives from the North

to-morrow. _ T ‘ The hospital reports that E. Warner is not seriously hurt, and wall be discharged in a couple of days. V Sunny Loch (A. E. Ellis), Aberfeldy (I Tilson), and Gay Queen (G. Salt) gave a brilliant display of jumping over four flights of hurdles. Sunny Loch and Aberfeldy rose and landed together at each fence, with Gay Queen - trailing them five lengths away., The time, 1.13 3-5, is the best done_ during the last fortnight.
