[MEXICO ELIMINATED. JAPAN TO MEET CANADA. (Australian & N. 7.. Cable Assn.) NEW YORK, August 1. In. the Davis Cup contest, Japan v. Mexico, the former has won the right to meet Canada in the next round. In the singles played yesterday at St. Louis Ota (Japan) defeated Unda (Mexico), 6 1, 4 —6, 6 —3, 6—4. Japan therefore won three singles matches and lost the doubles.
