Mr. A. 11. Gould, - principal of the Wellington Training College, has been appointed to the Chair of Education at Victoria University College.
The Right Hon. Sir Joseph Ward, who lias been laid up with a severe cold since a few clays after his return from Australia, has recovered, and was expected to resume his scat in the House of Representatives to-day.
Mr. Julian B. Foster, Trade Commissioner for the United States of America in Australia, arrived at Auckland by the Niagara from Sydney yesterday. It is stated that he contemplates setting up an office in New Zealand simito that which lie has in Australia.
Mr. T. R. Gresswell, headmaster of Wellington College, has asked the Board of Governors to relieve him of his duties for health reasons. The resignation lakes effect early next year.
Mr C. E. Carr, manager of the Auckland branch of the Commercial Bank of Australia, has been transferred on promotion to Brisbane, Queensland, and will leave to take up his new duties in September. Mr W. J. Bradbury, of Melbourne, has been appointed to suo« ecccl Mr Carr in Auckland.
